Marietta Bandy Thrower, 72 of Wilmington, NC passed away on October 1, 2021 while surrounded by family from a cancer she didn't know she had until Sept 11, 2021.
Marietta Thrower was the matriarch of her family . Marietta started her career at Morgan Stanley, raised her three beautiful children in Brooklyn, NY before retiring from the NYC MTA as a bus driver and union representative for TWU Local 100.
She lived a life of purpose, pouring into others the love that existed within her. She has touched so many and inspired others to be both genuine and loving to those around them. That is why she was so loved.
During her short stay in the hospital Marietta expressed a desire to do something for those faced with a way to remember their loved ones while also doing something to find healing for themselves and it is because of that conversation she had with her eldest daughter that Marietta's House was created.
Thank you for your support
